The short version

You don't need an account and we don't ask for your name. We never pass your details or your quotes to tradies.

Checking a quote

The files you upload (quotes and any insurance certificate) are sent to Anthropic, an AI service, to be read and to write your second opinion. Anthropic's handling of data is described at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

The "help keep quotes fair" box is not ticked unless you tick it. If you don't tick it, we don't keep your files or your result. If you do, we keep a private copy of the files, the details you typed and the result. We use them to improve the checker and to build pricing information about Australian trade work, such as typical prices by trade, job type, area and year. We never publish, sell or share an individual quote. We may publish pricing figures built from many quotes, with names, addresses and contact details taken out.

Quotes often show your name and address and the business's details. Cover anything you'd rather not share before you take the photo.

Business checks

We use the ABN printed on the quote to look up the public ABN record, and we link to official registers and to Google Maps. We don't store what those sites show.

Other things

To stop misuse, each visitor has a daily limit, worked out from their internet address. That count is temporary. We keep a record of how much each check costs to run (size, trade and AI usage), with no personal details. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard security logs.

If we add advertising later, this page will say so first, including any cookies it uses.

Removing a stored quote

Email hello@quotewatchdog.com with the date you uploaded it and the business name on it, and we'll delete it.
